Frequently asked Questions

In general, a Diesel-fueled car cumulates carbon more quickly than a petrol car, because diesel combustion produces more waste.

Also, a part of the exhaust gas from your vehicle is re-injected after burning in your air circuit, which gradually leads to a deposit of combustion residues. Thus the accumulation of carbon.

During the processing time, Hydrostark’s machines remove around 75% of carbon deposits.

Later on, the benefits continue during the 6 months following the operation, because the decarbonization altered the remaining carbon which later on will be released in the form of mildly polluting gazes.

Gradually the carbon deposits will cumulate once again in your engine, this is why it is important to do yearly decarbonizations.

The Machines Hydrostark is useful for cars mainly ( it is recommended to decarbonize starting 20 000 km and later on every 15,000 km).

Decarbonizing with a Hydrostark lasts 30 to 90 minutes depending on the engine’s volume. Our machines have various power capacities in order to adapt to the needs of your vehicle.

Our machines have been tested by the Veritas office before being marketed,

furthermore, we gathered many positive testimonials from a network of 1200 mechanics and entrepreneurs equipped with our machines.

They all reported an increase in the engine’s power, a better driving experience, and less fuel consumption.

Each of our machines adapts to different car engines. The efficiency felt afterward varies depending on fuel, vehicle, and driving style.

By eliminating carbon deposits, the car air system is cleaned up, which balances the air/fuel ratio involved during fuel consumption. Without carbon deposits, the ratio is maintained at a 50/50 % intake. In the opposite scenario, a clogged engine would use more fuel.

A mechanic’s diagnosis will state why your car wouldn’t start and what should be done. He can recommend carbon cleaning if he notices a clogged engine. In this case, he will recommend decarbonizing.

A particle filter requires a specific intervention.

However, regular decarbonization avoids bad surprises and extends the life of the particle filter since it is one of the priciest pieces of your engine (between 1 500 and 3 000€).

It is not systematic and should be replaced only if needed.

Hydrogen decarbonization does not require mechanical intervention and is fully compatible with your warranty. This increases the sustainability of your vehicle.

An oil additive put in your tank will not have an effect on your injection circuit and not on your air circuit. Similarly, you can use “premium” fuel which already contains these products.

If you want to increase the performance of your engine, it is better to act in its entirety with decarbonization.

An engine needs air and fuel to operate. This operation requires only the air ducts in your vehicle and not the fuel pipes.

This injection of hydrogen is sufficient to clean the engine.

Techniques using oil additives exist, but they only clean the fuel system as no liquid can enter the air of your engine (except for the removal of specific parts).

There is no risk of overheating your engine thanks to the ventilation system.

The carbon is evacuated through the EGR valve, and accelerations open this valve,

in slow motion it opens only at 5%.

Accelerations during carbon cleaning evacuate the maximal amount of carbon.

We recommend carbon cleaning at every oil change or technical control, to have a global view of your engine.

Decarbonizing is only twelve years old. You can learn more about it with our blog.
